PARKING & STUDENT DROP-OFF/PICK-UP AT LHSS
Posted March 10, 2026
A reminder to ALL students and parents/caregivers of our LHSS parking and drop-off/pick-up rules as we head into the spring season. Please note there have been some important changes!
MAIN PARKING LOT (SEE MAP BELOW):
The upper two sections of the lot are reserved for STAFF ONLY and are not to be used for student parking or drop-off/pick-up. Starting this March, staff vehicles parked in these upper lots will have LHSS tags displayed. Visitors/occasional teachers can register via Google form (coming soon) to permit parking in the upper 2 areas. Any vehicles parked in these areas without a tag or form approval may be reported to the main office and must be moved.
The lower lot is reserved for student parking and/or student drop-off/pick-up. Please keep the “roundabout” area clear (indicated by yellow arrow) to allow for safe movement through the lot. Cars blocking this area must be moved.

STUDENT DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:
Student drop-off and pick-up should only occur in the designated area of the main parking lot (see above) OR on side streets off Laurelwood Drive (where safe to do so). This includes Wild Ginger Ave. and Blue Beech Drive. Students should NOT be dropped off or picked up in the following areas due to safety issues:
- Upper areas of main parking lot (back of school)
- Main back driveway off Creekside Drive (for school buses only)
- Front parking lot (off Laurelwood Drive)
- On Laurelwood Drive in front of school – this is a NO STOPPING/PARKING zone as per Waterloo Bylaw Enforcement

LHSS Parking & Student Drop-off/Pick-up Info
Posted September 2, 2025
With the start of the new school year, we’d like to remind our students and families about our parking and drop-off/pick-up areas. To ensure the safety of everyone before and after school, please review detailed information posted here.
IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS:
- The front entrance/lot (Laurelwood Drive) and rear entrance/driveway (Creekside Drive) are for school buses and special transportation only. No student and/or parent/caregiver traffic is permitted in these areas before startup (7:55 – 8:40 am) in the morning and end of school (2:00 – 2:45 pm) in the afternoon.
- Laurelwood Drive and Erbsville Road are NOT safe locations to use for drop-off or pick-up as these areas can cause significant traffic issues in front of the school and through the Erbsville intersection.
- There is no student parking, drop-off or pick-up in the upper or middle lots as this can create unsafe traffic situations (red areas on map). Students may only park in the lower lot (green area) and are not permitted to use visitor spots in the front lot.
- The middle and upper lots/parking spots are reserved for staff vehicles only.
- Drivers may use the rear lower lot circle off Creekside Drive (green area), available lower-lot spots or designated neighbouring streets for pick-up and drop-off.
- Walking, biking and drop off in the neighbouring streets is recommended over options involving driving to and parking at the site due to high traffic volume, congestion and safety.
