Class of 2023 – Important Commencement Updates

Students planning to attend the Class of 2023 Commencement Ceremony – PLEASE READ!

  • COMMENCEMENT COMMENTS – if you wish to submit a comment that will be read during your diploma presentation at the ceremony, this is due NO LATER THAN NOON ON MONDAY, JUNE 19TH!  There will be NO opportunity to provide comments after this deadline. The link to the Google Form has been reposted in the Class of 2023 Google Classroom!
  • COMMENCEMENT FEES/GOWNS – there are still some students who registered to attend commencement but have not paid your fee through SchoolDay.  Please speak with Ms. Urquhart or Ms. Taylor ASAP if there is an issue with your fee!  This needs to be taken care of quickly to ensure you have a gown, etc. for the ceremony.
  • TICKETS – a reminder that tickets are available through the Centre in the Square box office (assigned seating only).  At last update, nearly 1,600 tickets have been sold (and capacity is only 1,900).  LINK – https://kwtickets.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=GRADUATION&linkID=cits&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode= or by phone at 519-578-1570

CEREMONY DETAILS FOR GRADS…

  • Bring your gown/package with you to the Centre in the Square!
  • Enter the Centre in the Square via the Studio entrance off Ellen Street (not the main entrance).
  • All students will be seated ON STAGE during the ceremony in alpha order (for diploma presentations).
  • Grads must arrive and be seated in the hall no later than 6:30pm for important ceremony instructions and marshalling.

CLASS OF 2023 – Pre-Commencement Online Store

Students/families wishing to pre-order flowers, Class of 2023 t-shirts and more for delivery prior to our commencement ceremony on June 27th, please check out the online ordering site – https://www.thecommencementgroup.com/laurelheights/

The Commencement Group will also be at the Centre in the Square the night of the ceremony with items available for purchase.

Sem 2 EQAO Grade 9 Math Testing – June 14 & 15

The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will be continuing their assessment for all grade 9 second semester math students.  The administration of the assessment will take place over two days on the following dates:
  • Session A (60 min): Wednesday June 14th periods A & B
  • Session B (60 min): Thursday June 15th periods C & D
