Summer Break 2024 – Report Cards, Diplomas, Office Hours & More

Happy summer holidays, Hurricanes and congratulations to all our graduates!
Now that the school year has come to an end, please check out details regarding summer hours!

TUESDAY, JULY 9th to THURSDAY, JULY 11th (8:00am-3:00pm)

FINAL SEM 2 REPORT CARDS – pickup in Main Office (enter school via front doors)

  • Students may only pick up their own report cards, etc. or have a parent/caregiver pickup on their behalf

  • If you are unable to pick up your materials during the dates above, you will have another opportunity during the last week of August after school staff return.

GRADS – diplomas/transcripts and student awards available in guidance office

  • Note – award winners please ensure you pick up your awards ASAP to avoid issues with stale-dated cheques (where applicable).

  • Diplomas/packages can only be handed out directly to student (or parent/caregiver) – friends may not pick up packages on behalf of another student.
  • If you haven’t returned your WRDSB Chromebook or other loaned items, please bring these for drop off when picking up your diploma, etc.

SUMMER OFFICE CLOSURE – MONDAY, JULY 15th to FRIDAY, AUG. 23rd

  • LHSS is closed for summer break and office staff will return Monday, August 26th.

  • There will be no access to the school during these dates.

SEPTEMBER START-UP

  • PD Day – Tuesday, September 3rd

  • First Day of School – Wednesday, September 4th (more details to follow – please monitor the school website)

Summer School 2024 – Important Reminders and Updates

Students who are registered for online or in-person summer school courses for this July, please take note of important schedule and course information!

  • All classes run from Tuesday, July 2nd until Friday, July 26th (online or in-person) – weekdays only.
  • Daily attendance is required and critical for success at summer school.
  • All full credit summer school courses involve a minimum of 110 hours of content and instruction.
  • All in-person classes will run daily from 8:30am to 3:00pm at Huron Heights Secondary School. Busing is provided to and from HHSS – see schedule here!
  • Vacation or work should be scheduled outside of summer school hours due to time commitments required to complete courses. 
  • Students are not able to access online courses and/or WRDSB Google accounts if outside Canada.

If you require assistance for summer school (July 2 to 26), please contact the WRDSB Alternative and Continuing Education Office (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-3:00pm).

GRADS – FINAL COMMENCEMENT/LAST WEEK REMINDERS

  • GRADS – drop-off on Otto Street (main lobby entrance) before 6:00pm see map hereUpon arrival, please head directly to the stage area for seating and marshalling instructions.
  • FAMILIES/GUESTS – please plan to arrive as early as possible for parking as traffic in the area can be very busy for this event.  Auditorium doors open at 6:30pm for seating.
  • TICKETS – event is nearly sold out – see ticket availability here!
  • PARKING – please check out the Centre in the Square event parking (number of options available in the area).  The Otto Street lot tends to fill up quickly (note – $12 cash only), so you may want to plan for alternate options.

WRDSB CHROMEBOOKS, SCHOOL ACCOUNTS, DIPLOMAS, ETC.

  • CHROMEBOOKS – grads please ensure you return your WRDSB Chromebook and charger to the main office during the last week of school.  If you miss returning the device this week, please make sure you bring this back when you pick up your diploma package in early July.
  • DIPLOMA PACKAGES – we plan to have these available for pickup in the LHSS main office in early July (includes your diploma, transcript, final report card, grad composite if photo taken AND commencement awards if applicable).  Please monitor the LHSS website for details on pick-up dates/times.
  • YOUR WRDSB GOOGLE ACCOUNT – this will shut down during the summer and you will lose access to your WRDSB email and Google Drive.  Please take time to backup any important messages and files this week!  Helpful tips to assist with backing up your material here!
