With heavy hearts, we share news of the recent passing of Mr. Pegg.

Stephen Lyle Pegg (October 1, 1950 – July 21, 2020) was a constant guiding presence at SJAM since its opening in 2005 in the role of  Supervision Monitor.  Having retired from a career in Corrections, Mr. Pegg  kept thousands of students and staff under his caring and watchful eye for 15 years.  Mr. Pegg’s strong and gentle presence offered us safety, security and peace of mind.  We are forever grateful for his kindness and will miss him every day.  Our school will not be the same without him.

Our deepest condolences to Mr. Pegg’s wife, Janet; his three children Rosalynd (Tom), Roxanne (Jeff) and Russell; and to his grandchildren, Audrey and Caitlin.

In honour of Mr. Pegg, the flags at SJAM and the Waterloo District School Board will be flown at half mast this week. In September, when school resumes, we will continue to honour Mr. Pegg’s memory as a school community.

Please check in with your child in the days to come.  If you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact me via email to discuss support.  Along with our Administrators, members of the Board’s Critical Response Team have been consulted to support our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Vida Collis
