Thursday, December 10th is a Class and Cohort Change-over Day.  From Thursday, December 10 to Wednesday, December 16th, we go back to Period 3 with Cohort A attending class at school (while Cohort B learns from home).

For Thursday, December 17th and Friday, December 18th, Cohort B returns for Period 3.  After we return from Winter Holidays, Cohort B again returns for Period 3 from Monday, January 4 to Wednesday, January 6th.

As 2020 winds to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our students, our families and our staff for everyone’s ongoing support, patience and perseverance since our return to school in September.  Each and every day, I witness students and staff adhering to and reinforcing health and safety protocols in their effort to come together as a learning community and to keep each other healthy in the process.  I appreciate the sacrifices that each of us are making compared to what “normal” used to be in our schools.  I am humbled and amazed at the resiliency of our kids and staff who have adopted unprecedented practices as we navigate what school can be during this pandemic.  And, my thanks to our parents who have entrusted their children to our care.  I know that this was not a decision made easily and without much thought.

Each day, as students enter our building, I hear the, “hello and thank-you,” from kids as they perform the now-ritual of hand sanitizing through their designated entry-doors.  That exchange says so much and means so much.  I thank you and know that we will continue to not only endure this pandemic and  learn how to live within it but to, ultimately, thrive.   I am also optimistic that we will continue to move forward together, having endured so much as a community, we will be all the better for it.

Thank you, SJAM, for all you do.  Wishing everyone all of the best as we head together into 2021!

Ms. Collis
