Hello, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Secondary Students!

If you are registered to take a summer school class this year, we are excited to continue our learning together. The information below will help you have a strong start with your summer school class.

Secondary Summer School Classes

If your summer school class is with the WRDSB, it starts Monday, July 5 at 10 am.
Students can access their online class via the My Courses area in the WRDSB Brightspace Portal. Log in using your WRDSB email address and password. Students will be able to access their virtual class beginning at 9:45 am on Monday, July 5.

What will learning be like for Summer School?

A summer school class with the WRDSB will have a mix of synchronous (live with the teacher) and asynchronous (self-directed) learning in a remote learning environment.

How can I learn more about the Brightspace platform?

For secondary students who would like to learn more about using the online Brightspace environment, they have access to a Student Orientation via their My Courses area in Brightspace, or they can access it directly:

What is the summer school day?

WRDSB summer school classes start at 10 am and finish at 4:30 pm.
During your online class on Monday, teachers will share a more detailed daily schedule with students. For students taking Civics and/or Careers classes with the WRDSB this summer, they will be separated into morning and afternoon classes for synchronous (live) learning opportunities.

Tech@Home

Don’t forget about the Tech@Home website, which contains self-serve information to help students and families troubleshoot common technical issues that users may encounter with Chromebooks, iPads and more at home.

We wish all WRDSB students a great summer of learning!
