Hello Laurel Heights Community!
While we cannot offer any new updates on the recent announcement regarding delays to the STSWR bus transportation system, we instead offer here details regarding our LHSS Walk, Ride, Drop-off/Pick-up and Student/Parent Parking Information for 2022-2023 which goes over the options for getting students to and from school that are new and improved for this year.
Highlights from the document linked above are;
- Walking, biking and drop off in the neighbouring streets is recommended over options involving driving to and parking at the site.
- The rear bus lane and the front bus circle are not accessible to cars for drop off and pick up during the morning and afternoon (ie., roughly 30 minutes before and after the first (8:20 am) and last (2:30 pm) bells. Drivers are to use the rear lower lot circle and spots ONLY (or designated neighbouring streets) for pick-up and drop-off.
- Parent and student vehicles drop-off and pick-up access and student parking are all off Creekside drive in the lower lot only. Only staff vehicles may enter and park in the middle and upper lots.
- The lower lot is now a one direction counter-clockwise traffic circle with painted arrows and signage. There are 62 student/parent parking spots on the sides and middle.
- New signage and painted lines are in place to reflect these ongoing adjustments.
