We are excited to share a new event at Laurel Heights this year! Introducing… Scare Hunger! This is a food drive competition between participating WRDSB secondary schools from October 16 to October 30. During this time, our school will collect non-perishable goods to be generously donated to the local food bank. Alternatively, individuals may contribute through online cash donations on the food bank’s website. We want to stress that there is no pressure to donate. We understand that everyone has their unique circumstances and we greatly appreciate any form of support. Let’s come together to make a difference in our community!
If you are interested in a cash contribution click on the link here to donate (the link is now active to contribute, but non-perishable items will be collected from Oct. 16th – Oct. 30th).
See the most needed items by the Food Bank and consider donating from this list:
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Canned meats and fish
- Dry beans and pasta
- Hot and cold cereal
- Individually packed snacks (granola bars, apple sauce, pudding cups)
- Jam/fruit spread
- Pasta sauce
- Peanut butter
- Rice
Thank you Hurricanes!
