The annual Tinman Triathlon at Elmira District Secondary School (EDSS) brought together over 200 students and volunteers from schools across the Waterloo Region in a celebration of perseverance, community, and inclusive athleticism.
Rooted in the principles of equity, Tinman champions accessible athletic programming that supports both physical and mental well-being. The event encourages students of all abilities to challenge themselves, set personal goals, and experience the joy of active living.
“You don’t have to be an Ironman. You can take your time, be a Tinman, and still be a part of the triathlon community.” – Kingsten Leu, Volunteer.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff, students, volunteers, and community members who made this event such a success. Your dedication and enthusiasm continue to make Tinaman a highlight of the school year – creating lasting memories for our community.
“I’m so proud of every single participant. Their smiles across that finish line is just amazing to me. This is why I do it every year.” – Thuy Leu, EDSS staff and event organizer.
