A Message from Region of Waterloo Public Health

Public Health will be enforcing the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) during the 2025-26 school year. ISPA is an Ontario law that requires certain vaccines to be given for a student to attend school, making sure that all school-aged children and youth are protected from vaccine preventable diseases.

Parents (or students 16 years and older) are responsible for reporting their student’s vaccine records or submitting a valid medical or non-medical vaccine exemption to Public Health. Your health care provider does not submit records for you.

If you receive a letter indicating that your student does not have any vaccine records on file with Public Health, please visit www.regionofwaterloo.ca/vaccines.

Here you can:

  • Access more information about ISPA
  • Request or report vaccine records
  • Submit vaccine exemption forms
  • Book vaccine appointments (for those who do not have an Ontario health card or do not have a family doctor)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to immunizationservices@regionofwaterloo.ca and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

As always, we are grateful for your ongoing support of Public Health’s vaccination programs.

Thank you,

Immunization Services
