Grade 9 Pre-Advanced Placement Application Site NOW OPEN

Grade 8 students wishing to apply for SJAM’s pre-advanced placement grade 9 courses – our application website is NOW OPEN.  Click the link below for details on how to apply.  Deadline for equal consideration to the grade 9 Pre-AP program is January 16th, 2020 (common date for ALL WRDSB magnet/special programs).

Please note – SJAM Pre-AP is NOT a magnet program.  To apply, you must be in the SJAM boundary area and provide proof of address (if applicable).

Pre-AP/AP applications for current SJAM students will open in the new year.

SJAM Grade 8 Info Night Update/Reminder – Wed. Dec. 11

Great news! SJAM’s Grade 8 Info Night is going ahead as scheduled on Wednesday, Dec. 11th, as any OSSTF-related job action that day will not affect the event.  Please see times/details below:

  • Ample parking available is large lot behind school (enter off Creekside Drive)
  • Student leaders will be on hand to greet families and hand out schedules/maps upon entry
  • Families will be assigned specific groups/tour start locations upon arrival – not all groups will start in caf
  • Very large group anticipated, so plan to arrive ahead of start times (see below)

SCHEDULE:

  • 5:15-5:45 – Optional Sessions (Pre-AP/Innovation in SJAM aud, Fast Forward in SJAM library)
  • 6:00-8:20 – Electives Area Tour (with student leaders – includes general session tour stops in caf)

WRDSB schools Open December 11

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) has announced that its members (teachers and education workers) will participate in another one-day full withdrawal of services (strike-action) at a number of school boards across the province, on December 11, 2019. SJAM “Stuff-a-Bus” Food Drive a Huge Success

SJAM’s ‘Stuff-the-Bus’ food drive was a huge success! Thank you to everybody who brought in food. Food and fund drives are an important part of meeting the need in our community.  SJAM was able to raise:

1578 pounds of food donated = 1,233 meals for families in need

The homeroom that brought in the most food was Mr. Grant’s grade 12 English class!  Congrats!

Schools reopen December 5

All WRDSB elementary and secondary schools will reopen for students on December 5 following the one-day OSSTF strike. Before and after school programs will reopen and student transportation will operate as normal. We want to thank everyone for their patience during this time.
