Take Our Kids to Work Day 2024 (TOKTW) – Wed. Nov. 6th

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is pleased to encourage Grade 9 student participation on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Take Our Kids to Work 2024!

Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTWD)  is an experiential opportunity designed for Grade 9 students to experience “A day in the life” of a profession or workplace. The goal of the program is to help Grade 9 students make connections between school and the world of work, as they begin to think about possible career pathways. Grade 9 students can spend the day in the workplace of a parent/guardian, relative, friend or colleague job shadowing. This experiential program is supported by The Students Commission of Canada SCC 2024. Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTW) has a long history of being a successful opportunity for students to gain real world experience in the workplace.

Should your student wish to participate in TOKTW Day 2024, please complete the PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT FORM and return to the LHSS main office prior to November 6th, 2024 to ensure your student is not marked absent from classes for this event.

If your student does not wish to participate, they may go to school and attend their regular classes for the day.  For more information about this event, please check out the preview video below.
