PARKING & STUDENT DROP-OFF/PICK-UP AT LHSS
Posted March 10, 2026
A reminder to ALL students and parents/caregivers of our LHSS parking and drop-off/pick-up rules as we head into the spring season. Please note there have been some important changes!
MAIN PARKING LOT (SEE MAP BELOW):
The upper two sections of the lot are reserved for STAFF ONLY and are not to be used for student parking or drop-off/pick-up. Starting this March, staff vehicles parked in these upper lots will have LHSS tags displayed. Visitors/occasional teachers can register via Google form (coming soon) to permit parking in the upper 2 areas. Any vehicles parked in these areas without a tag or form approval may be reported to the main office and must be moved.
The lower lot is reserved for student parking and/or student drop-off/pick-up. Please keep the “roundabout” area clear (indicated by yellow arrow) to allow for safe movement through the lot. Cars blocking this area must be moved.

STUDENT DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:
Student drop-off and pick-up should only occur in the designated area of the main parking lot (see above) OR on side streets off Laurelwood Drive (where safe to do so). This includes Wild Ginger Ave. and Blue Beech Drive. Students should NOT be dropped off or picked up in the following areas due to safety issues:
- Upper areas of main parking lot (back of school)
- Main back driveway off Creekside Drive (for school buses only)
- Front parking lot (off Laurelwood Drive)
- On Laurelwood Drive in front of school – this is a NO STOPPING/PARKING zone as per Waterloo Bylaw Enforcement

Semester 2 Parent/Caregiver Open House – Thursday, March 5th
Posted February 27, 2026
We invite you to attend Laurel Heights’ Parent and Caregiver Open House on Thursday, March 5th from 5:30-7:30 pm – a chance for you to meet/greet LHSS staff and see your student’s learning spaces. This is a great opportunity to gain an understanding of your student’s day at school while exploring the environments and opportunities available to them.
To help you prepare for your visit, please check with your student(s) for information about their semester 2 teachers!
Teachers can be found in their department areas and can answer questions about their courses, programming, and facilities. At this early point in the semester, we will not have specific information about student achievement or marks, but this is a great chance to get to connect with your student’s teachers.
Student leaders will be on hand to distribute teacher locators and school maps when you arrive! We hope to see you on March 5th!
