We appreciate the need for families to have timely notification of any confirmed positive Covid cases in their child’s classroom.  Last year, the model employed involved individual phone calls to families.  While this ensured immediate confirmation of the receipt of information through an experience new for us all, we also appreciate that this resulted in a delay of several hours, especially in instances where dozens of families needed to be notified.

With over 92% of our families registered with the School Day notification system, please know that our first round of communication of a confirmed positive Covid Case in your child’s class, complete with information and direction from Public Health, will be sent to the email that a parent has used to registered themselves with in the School Day system.  With this system, a response back from the families (and instructions will be provided in the email notification) will be required.  Follow-up phone calls will continue for families who have not confirmed the receipt of the information.

Similar to last year, all schools will be sharing on its website and School Day occurences of positive Covid Cases presented within the school at the direction of Public Health  while respecting the privacy of the individuals involved.
