Our school will be participating in the grade 9 Math EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office) assessment this year.  The assessment will evaluate the math skills students are expected to have learned by the end of the Grade 9 mathematics course.  All students enrolled in math for second semester will participate in this province-wide evaluation.  The data collected is important to determine how Ontario students are performing in math across the province.  Please note that this assessment will not be used as evidence of learning in the grade 9 math course.

Classroom teachers will be preparing their classes to participate in the assessment.  Students will receive an individual report of their results prepared by the EQAO office in the fall of 2022.  Successful completion of the Provincial Mathematics Assessment is not a diploma requirement.

The administration of the assessment will take place over two days on the following dates:

  • Part 1 (session A)   Monday June 20th periods A & B
  • Part 2  (session b)   Tuesday June 21st periods C & D

The organization of the assessment is as follows:

  • Session A (60 min) Module 1, 25 Questions
  • Session B (60 min) Module 2, 25 Questions

Extra Time has been built into each session so if students need more time, it can be given. The following link can be used to provide more information around Grade 9 math EQAO assessment

Thank you for your support throughout the semester by helping your child to develop good work habits and effective study skills to succeed in mathematics.
