Dear Members of the LHSS Community,

Our first Semester 2 Blended Learning day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1st.  All secondary schools in the WRDSB are using dedicated professional development days as well as blended learning options to support student achievement and ensure effective implementation of de-streaming.

Second Semester Blended Learning Days: March 1st and May 10th

Blended Learning Days:

  • Secondary teachers will be engaging in Professional Development to support the expansion of de-streaming and single streaming.
  • For students, these days will be similar to our Instructional Support Days, where students are not required to attend in-person, but will have learning provided through the virtual classroom and live meetings with their teachers.
  • Attendance will be taken, but in-person attendance will be optional on these days.
  • A supervised study space will be available in the morning for students attending.
  • Blended Learning Days are instructional days.  In the morning students will be provided asynchronous course work and in the afternoon all 4 classes will have synchronous meets. Attendance will be taken
  • ACE students will attend school with regular programming and following regular attendance procedures.
  • Transportation will run at regular times
TIME ACTIVITIES
8:20-10:55am

Remote/Asynchronous Learning – students will login to their virtual classrooms and complete work provided by their teachers for ALL courses (approx. 35 minutes/class)

Staff participating in PD activities

Students may attend ACE classes and supervised study areas

10:55-11:55am LUNCH
LEARNING IN THE AFTERNOON IS REMOTE/SYNCHRONOUS – teachers will be available to meet with students as per the schedule below
11:55am-12:33pm Period A
12:35-1:12pm Period B
1:15-1:51pm Period C
1:53-2:30pm Period D
