We are excited to welcome students to school on Tuesday, September 8th!  Please review helpful startup information posted below (also shared via SchoolDay) as we prepare for the coming school year!

FINAL 2026 REPORT CARD PICK-UP

  • Any students who did not pick up their final report cards in June may do so the week of Monday, Aug. 31st to Thursday, Sept. 3  from 8am to 3pm in the LHSS main office.
  • Please enter the school using the front doors.  Other areas of the school are not accessible at this time.

2026-2027 STUDENT TIMETABLES

  • 2026-2027 timetables will be sent to students’ WRDSB Gmail on Thursday Sept 3rd (last names A-L) and Friday, September 4th (last names M-Z).
  • NOTE – 2026-2027 timetables will be sent to students’ WRDSB Gmail over the course of two days on September 3rd and 4th.
  • Emails will come from lhs-attendance@wrdsb.ca – please check junk/spam folders if you don’t receive them.
  • Students new to WRDSB this fall – your school email accounts will not activate until you have attended school in person. If we have contact info (personal or caregiver email), we will send your timetable to that address. Otherwise, to receive your timetable, please come to the main office on Tuesday before heading to your homeroom.
  • Homeroom lists will be posted in the main lobby (all students) and cafeteria (grade 9s) prior to the start of classes on Tuesday to help you determine your period A location if you did not receive your emailed schedule.

OPENING DAY SPECIAL SCHEDULE

LHSS is running a modified schedule for the first day of school. Only Grade 9 students will attend in the morning. All students will attend their scheduled classes in the afternoon.

GRADE 9 WELCOME ACTIVITIES – RUNNING IN THE MORNING

  • 8:20-8:55 – grade 9 welcome assembly (cafeteria)
  • 9:00-9:35 – grade 9 homeroom orientation/student leader icebreakers
  • 9:40-10:55 – School tours and activities
  • 10:55-11:55 – outdoor games for grade 9s & food trucks for all (back tarmac and main field)

ALL GRADES – CLASSES IN THE AFTERNOON

  • Period A –11:55-12:30
  • Period B – 12:35-1:10
  • Period C – 1:15-1:50
  • Period D – 1:55-2:30

CHROMEBOOKS

Grade 9 students who have opted in for a WRDSB Chromebook will receive them on the first day of school.  Any student in Grade 9 or who is new to the WRDSB who did not opt in for a Chromebook will need to complete the Chromebook Opt-in Form on School-Day 

COURSE CHANGES

Students who wish to make a course change request for the coming school year, please visit our guidance COURSE CHANGE page for important information.  Request forms will be available in the LHSS guidance office starting Wednesday, September 9th and completed forms are due by the end of lunch on Tuesday, September 15th.

LOCKER REQUESTS

Locker requests are now open. Students can find the QR code to access the Google form at school and in their Google classrooms (stay tuned). Students must be in their WRDSB account to complete the form. The form will close FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th. Assigned lockers will then be emailed to students in their WRDSB email account. Any questions can be directed to the main office.

**New lockers are assigned each year.  If you left items in your old locker in June, those items have been bagged and can be returned to students during the first week of school.

Please note that we have updated and created an electronic version of our LHSS Parent and Student Handbook – this can be found on the LHSS school website.  This includes important updated information regarding LHSS’ Mobile Device Policy for students as well as Parking and Drop Off Information.
