LHSS Student and Parent Handbook DARE TO BELIEVE – EXPECT TO SUCCEED

Dear Hurricanes, Students and Parents of Laurel Heights Secondary School,

We have recently updated our LHSS Student and Parent Handbook to reflect our new name and changes to some of our information and policies. We hope our busy and hardworking community will find this a useful reference. The version we provide electronically has active links to more detailed content you will find helpful on several topics. We hope this provides students and parents with  a convenient reference on our LHSS and WRDSB policies and procedures on many aspects of school life including the following;

-how to report absences to our attendance desk,

-where to drop off and pick up students,

-how to get academic and social/emotional support if students need it,

-what expectations guide our Hurricanes behaviour, and

– the school’s progressive approach to discipline.

Parents and students are encouraged to review the handbook and refer to it often or when they have a question. Teachers may go over the handbook contents with students during class over the next weeks in order to reinforce its use and to highlight certain policies.

A copy of the link aboove will be sent to every student’s school email account thorugh their “Guidance Classroom” for easy access.
