Quad 1 Summative Days and Quad 2 Turnover FAQs

Summative Days Schedule (Nov. 11-13) & Frequently Asked Questions About Quad 2 Turnover

As you may already be aware the three days in mid-November at the end of Quad 1 are set aside for summative assessment activities from home. These replace exam days that we would traditionally run at the end of a semester. Here are some answers to the questions many of you likely have.

Q: Do I come to school during the summative days?

A: No, students will not attend in person during the Nov 11-13 dates (unless they are currently attending school everyday because they are enrolled in our congregated special education classes).

Q: Do I have to be attending “online” during these at home summative learning days?

A: Please follow the schedule below to see when your course teacher will be expecting you to attend synchronously/online to complete your summative assessments. Teachers may also give special instructions about how these learning blocks are being used for their courses.

Q: When will I know what cohort/classes I’m in for quad 2 (including rooms and entrances)?

A: Each of the Quad 2 course teachers will email and/or call students/families to let them know all of this information by the end of the day November 13th. The Quad 2 calendar is now available . NOTE – if you are not a student who takes the bus and you are expected to walk to school, your Quad 2 cohort may change from what it was in Quad 1 to accommodate your new classes.

Q: When do I need to return my Quad 1 course textbooks?

A: Teachers will communicate a date for students to return their resources while classes are in session before the November 11-13th summative schedule and during their cohort’s attendance time period. In some cases students may need their textbooks until the last day of the summative period (13th of November). In this case, students will need to return all texts to their new teacher on the first day of their Quad 2 in-class attendance – November 16th for Quad 2, Cohort A or November 19th for Quad 2, Cohort B.
