Kudos to LHSS Music Groups – Success at Kiwanis Festival

The annual KW Kiwanis Music Festival has wrapped up for 2026, and Laurel Heights music groups have once again come away with a slew of awards!  A huge shout-out to our talented students!

  • LHSS Choir – Silver Ranking Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival
  • LHSS String Ensemble – Gold Ranking  + Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival
  • LHSS Jr Concert Band  (Grade 9-10) – Gold Ranking + Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival
  • LHSS Jr Jazz Band (Grade 9-10) – Gold Ranking Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival
  • LHSS Sr Jazz Band (Grade 11-12) – Gold Ranking + Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival
  • LHSS Sr Concert Band (Grade 11-12) – Gold Ranking, Top Overall Concert Band in the Festival, School Band Trophy Winner, Being recognized at the KW Kiwanis Finale Concert/ Trophy Ceremony on May 8th. Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival
  • LHSS Jazz Combo “7/11” (Grade 11-12) – Gold Ranking, Top Overall Jazz Combo in the Festival w/ a final score of 97 (the highest score I’ve seen). Provided the honour to perform as the final act @ the KW Kiwanis Finale Concert on May 8th Request to represent their class at the OMFA Provincial Festival.

The results are visibly fantastic, but what we are more proud of is their commitment and passion, as well as how well they conducted themselves as ambassadors of our school throughout the course of the festival. “
