Braiding Diversity into Justice – Student Conference – March 31st

We are pleased to announce that the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN) will be running a program for high school students who identify as female or non-binary on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 8:30am to 11:30am. We will be holding the Braiding Diversity Into Justice event via Zoom in the school Library.

The goal of the Braiding Diversity into Justice event is to connect young women and non-binary students, who are marginalized and/or racialized, with members of the legal sector in order to motivate and empower them. We hope to inspire these young people of diverse backgrounds, and to help them feel confident in their ability to become successful legal/justice sector professionals.

There will be female role models from all areas of the legal profession to speak to the participants. This year’s event will include a motivational keynote from Jordana Goldlist, founder, JHG Criminal Law. Jordana Goldlist overcame struggles with addiction and homelessness as a teenager, and went on to graduate from law school and start her own criminal law practice.

Registration for this event is now open:  https://ojen.ca/en/program/braiding-diversity-into-justice.  Once students have registered, please see Mrs. Todd in room 1701 to obtain a permission form and receive more conference details.
